Flintts Mints x Pepela Project
We had Pepela make us 30 piece-unique shirts from dead stock. Each is imperfect in its own way.
They are all a little damaged in that real-life way (not in the $600 Balenciaga t-shirt way.)
Each one of these shirts used to be on some rando who wore it (on average) 7 times, and then tossed into a plastic bag in their closet for, like, a year. Then, they finally decided to donate it to Buffalo Exchange. But obviously they didn’t take it cuz they don’t take anything.
And so, it ended up sold by the pound at Goodwill…destined for the trash heap.
Then, this product was produced for a second time. Not in a factory by workers who didn’t want to be there. Instead, this time, it was made by hand. It was made with intention. It was given animacy.
Pepela saw something special in every one of these blanks. She used a process called sublimation to print directly onto these garments, so the prints are applied in unique ways. Please expect minor tears, the odd stain, and one handprint (you gotta pay extra for that.) We have done our best to represent sizing accurately.
I’m truly proud to offer this collection. This isn’t merch. It is certainly more than that.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege and experience.
Love,
Russell Adler
